斯坦福数学竞赛，一个高端洋气上档次、低调奢华有内涵的名字，那就是我们刚刚参加过的比赛。
8月22号到8月24号，我们世外一行队员、老师们在首都北京参加了斯坦福数学竞赛，并且很幸运地，在众多参赛学校和队伍中，获得了对于我们而言非常不错的成绩。
在整个行程中，我们收获到的却不仅仅是奖状，更是一份十分宝贵的经历。
斯坦福数学竞赛，有团队赛和个人赛两种比赛模式。个人赛自然比拼的是个人对数学的理解，而团队赛，却更注重团队合作能力。
在个人赛上，我校仅有蒋郡方同学获得了几何的前十，但是队员们个个都倾注了所有的精力，拼尽了全力。
原以为个人赛上的坎坷到了团队赛会被延续，然而，团队赛却带给了我们十分大的惊喜。
在团队赛上，我校有两支队伍在力量赛中获得了前十。作为其中一支队伍的队员，我认为，这样的成绩和我们的团队配合以及赛前的练习是分不开的。赛前，我们在晚饭后就集中到了一个房间里，拿出一份过去的真题开始练习。刚开始自然是坎坷不断，两个人做同一道题浪费了时间等等的失误层出不穷。然而，我们在一夜做了足足有三套题，所有的配合问题都迎刃而解，这也为我们第二天的良好表现打下了坚实的基础。在比赛时，我们的队长合理地分配题目，把不同难度的题目分配给合适的同学，极大程度地节约了时间。我们在最后时刻涉险过关，终于是在最后一分钟完成了所有的解题过程，由此可见我们合理分配题目以及团队配合的重要性。
这一次的斯坦福数学竞赛带给我们的收获是长久的。在今后的学习生涯中，相信我们也会遇到不少像这样需要团队配合的工作。有了这样的一次经历，也让我们真正感受到了何谓“人多力量大”。

The SMT – Thoughts and Feelings
Stanford Mathematics Test (SMT), a name with great honors, is the competition we’ve just taken.
During August 22nd to 24th, we, WFLMS contestants and teachers, attended the SMT in Beijing, and luckily, achieved something we didn’t expect between huge amounts of schools and teams.
We received not only certificate of merit but also great experience from the tour.
The SMT has two test mode – team work and personal work. The personal test depends on personal ability in maths, and the team test depends more on team work.
Although only Jiang Junfang got Top 10 in Geometry in personal tests, the contestants all tried their best in the tests.
We formally considered that the block in personal tests would show again in team tests. However, the team tests gave us a huge surprise.
There are two teams of our school got Top 10 in Power Round in team tests. As a member of one of the teams, I think that the achievement came from our team work and practice before tests. The night before the tests, our team members gathered in one room and started practicing just after dinner. At the beginning, we found a lot of problems such as two members were dealing with the same question which wasted time. However, we did three sets of questions that night, and all problems were solved. During the test, our team leader distributed the questions properly – gave questions with different difficulty levels to proper members, which saved a lot of time. We did all of the works at the last minute, and it shows how important it was for us to distribute questions and work in a team.
The gains from the SMT could last long. In the study career later, we would meet many works that need team work. With such kind of experience, we have the true feeling of “there is strength in numbers”.
